Since 1987, Kingsbridge Rovers and VV Oudegracht from Utrecht have swapped visits every other year. In 2027 it is our turn to host, and the whole club is invited to the party.
The weekend at a glance
- Friday 26 March: the Dutch coach arrives, welcome supper in the clubhouse
- Saturday 27 March: mixed friendly tournament for under-10s to under-14s at Mill Meadow
- Sunday 28 March: Rovers Women v Oudegracht Vrouwen, then the old boys' match (walking pace, mostly)
- Monday 29 March: farewell breakfast and the traditional swap of scarves
We need host families
We are looking for 20 families to host one or two young players for three nights. You get a guest who supports another team, a lot of laundry and, we promise, a friendship that lasts. Many of our Dutch-speaking parents have already offered to help translate.
Tell Sam, our secretary, through the contact page before 31 January.
