Trainers and shin pads are enough. We lend boots in every size from the kit cupboard.

Sign up and pay subs

Annual subs by bank transfer, in one go or in three instalments. Siblings get 25% off.

Pull on the green shirt

Match kit is provided by the club and washed by a rota of heroic parents. You buy socks and a training top.

Subs by age group

Subs cover league fees, referees, insurance, pitch hire and the floodlights. If cost is a worry, talk to Sam in confidence: our hardship fund pays for twelve players this season.

Parents ask us

My child has never played. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Most of our under-7s have never kicked a ball in a team. Mini Rovers is about having fun with a ball, not about winning.
Do girls play with boys?
Yes, up to under-11s, and every age group from under-12s also has a girls' team. Rovers Women train next to the girls on Wednesdays.
Are your coaches checked?
Every coach holds an FA qualification and an enhanced DBS check, renewed every three years. Our welfare officer is named in the members' area.
We speak Dutch at home. Will my child feel at home?
Very likely: around one family in six at the academy speaks Dutch, two coaches do too, and this whole site is in Dutch. Welkom!
What if we can't afford the subs?
Tell Sam. The hardship fund, paid for by our sponsors and the quiz nights, covers subs and boots, and nobody else will know.
