Wine with a story behind every cork
Around 300 natural and organic bottles from small growers, poured and sold halfway up the old stone Christmas Steps.

Every Thursday, 7pm: taste six wines with us
One theme, six natural wines, the story of the people who made them and a board of West Country cheese — for £18. Twenty seats, so book ahead.
Just landed in the cellar
Our newest bottles, straight off the pallet from the growers we visit each year. Order online for collection on Christmas Steps or local delivery — small allocations go quickly.
A shop run by people who drink what they sell
We opened The Cellar Door in 2017 with a simple idea: bring Bristol the wines we kept hunting down on holiday — honest bottles from growers who farm organically, pick by hand and add little or nothing in the cellar.
Every wine on our shelves has been tasted by us, most of the growers have been visited, and there is always something open on the counter to show you what we mean.

Three ways to drink with us
Thursday tastings
Six wines, one theme, a grower's story and some good cheese — every Thursday from 7pm.
The wine club
Three or six hand-picked bottles a month, with tasting notes and a members' evening.
The tasting bar
Any bottle from the shelves, opened at the bar for £5 corkage, with small plates on Friday and Saturday.
The best wine shop in Bristol, full stop. They found me a Jura white I still think about.
Thursday tastings are the highlight of my week — relaxed, generous and you always learn something.
No snobbery, just great advice. Told them my budget and they sent me home with three bottles I loved.
Wine club news, first
One letter a month: the wines in this month's club box, new arrivals before they hit the shelves and the next Thursday tasting themes. Sign up and take 10% off your first order with the code WELCOME10.
