Family law, handled with care
Divorce, separation, children and finances. Four Leeds solicitors who explain every step in plain English, or in French, and agree the fee before we start.

What we do
Four areas of family law, one calm approach
Most of our work is agreed without going to court. When court is needed, you will know why, and what it will cost.

Divorce and separation
No-fault divorce from application to final order, judicial separation and ending a civil partnership.

Child arrangements
Where the children live, how they spend time with each parent, schools, holidays and moving abroad.

Financial settlements
Dividing the home, savings and pensions fairly, and turning your agreement into a binding consent order.

Mediation
An accredited mediator helps you both reach decisions together, faster and at a fraction of the cost of court.

Our approach
Reassuring, clear, never cold
Separation is one of the hardest things a family goes through. We keep the law out of the way: you get a named solicitor, a written plan, a fixed price, and an answer to every email within one working day.
Many of our clients are French families living in Yorkshire. Two of our team advise in French, including on property, assurance-vie and pensions in France.
How it works
From first call to final order
A free 20-minute call
You tell us what is happening. We explain your options, the likely timescale and the cost, in English or in French.
A written plan and a fixed price
Within two working days you receive a short plan, the name of your solicitor and a fixed fee. Nothing starts until you agree.
We handle the paperwork
Applications, disclosure, letters to the other side and the court: we do it, and tell you what happened in plain words.
An agreement that lasts
We aim for a settlement both of you can live with, sealed by the court so it cannot be reopened.
What our clients say
Eleanor explained everything before I had to ask. For the first time in months I slept properly.
Claire handled our separation in French and in English. My husband and I were both treated fairly and kindly.
A fixed fee, no surprises, and a consent order sealed in eight weeks. I would recommend James to anyone.
