A practice of patience
I trained in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon and learned to cast bronze during a residency in Madeira. Today the two share one studio: canvases on the north wall, wax and plaster on the long table.
The work is about weight and light: how a surface holds a colour, how a form holds a gesture. A painting takes months; a bronze, from wax to patina, nearly a year.
