Lift heavy. Move well.
Small-group Strength, Engine and Mobility classes, coached properly — never more than 12 on the floor. Your first session is on us.

Open day · Sunday 15 November · 10 am – 2 pm
Open day. Come and lift with us.
Free taster classes every 45 minutes, a deadlift station with a coach, mobility clinics, and coffee and bacon barms on the house. Bring a friend — no booking, no membership needed.
Doors open in
The open day is on now — come down to Unit 4, Cotton Works.
The classes
Three classes. One plan.
Every week mixes heavy lifting, hard conditioning and the mobility work that keeps you training for years. Pick what you need, or do all three — the programme is built for that.

Strength
Squat, press, deadlift and pull, programmed in 6-week blocks so you can see your numbers climb.

Engine
Rowers, bikes, sleds and kettlebells. Intervals that build a big engine without wrecking your joints.

Mobility
Hips, ankles, thoracic spine. Slow, guided work that makes your lifts feel better next week.

Personal training
One-to-one coaching for a specific goal: a first powerlifting meet, a marathon block, getting back after injury.

The Northside way
A gym where the coach knows your name.
We opened in a railway-arch unit in Ancoats in 2019 with one rack and a rower. Today we are 600 members strong, and we still run every class the same way: a qualified coach, a whiteboard plan and no more than twelve people.
Beginners train next to county-level lifters. Nobody is left to guess — every rep gets coached, every weight gets written down.

Deadlifted 140 kg at 46. My physio couldn’t believe it.
I’d never set foot in a weights room. Jamie had me squatting with good form in my first week, and nobody made me feel like the new guy. The 6:15 crew are the reason I get out of bed.
Mobility on a Wednesday has fixed my back better than three years of stretching on my own.
Small classes, proper coaching, and a group chat that celebrates every PB.
Dan wrote me a 12-week rowing block for the Manchester Indoor Rowing champs. Knocked 19 seconds off my 2k.
Best gym in Manchester. Not the fanciest — the best.
