The classes

What each class feels like.

Barbell strength training at Northside

Strength · 60 min

Lift heavy, lift well

Warm-up, a main lift in 6-week waves, then accessory work. Your coach logs your numbers so every block starts where the last one finished.

Member pushing a weighted sled across the turf

Engine · 45 min

Build a bigger engine

Intervals on rowers, bikes and SkiErgs, sled pushes and kettlebell complexes. Scaled for everyone, hard for everyone.

Members working on hip mobility on mats

Mobility · 45 min

Move better, ache less

Guided mobility and core work for hips, shoulders and spine. The class our strongest members never skip.

Saturday · 60 min

Team workout

Partners, music up, one big workout to finish the week. Bring a friend — guests train free on Saturdays.

Technique library · Deadlift

Learn the deadlift before you pull.

Every Strength block comes back to the deadlift. Watch this walkthrough before your first class: bar over mid-foot, grip, shins to the bar, chest up, pull. It is the same five-step setup our coaches cue on the floor, so you will hear every word of it again.

Class questions.

I’m a complete beginner. Can I join a class?
Yes — most of our members started from zero. Your free first session teaches you the basics, and every class is scaled by the coach on the floor.
Which class should I start with?
Most people begin with two Strength and one Mobility class a week, then add Engine. Your coach will suggest a mix during your free session.
Do I need to book?
Yes, classes are capped at 12 so we book through the member app. You can join a waitlist and we notify you when a place opens.
Is there parking and showers?
Two showers, lockers and a changing room on site. Street parking on Radium Street, and Ancoats is 10 minutes’ walk from Piccadilly and Victoria.
